Laguna Lake is a fabulous recreational amenity in need of attention. I met with City Resource manager Bob Hill to resolve the overdue Laguna Lake dredging over 6 months ago and during the week of August 15. Laguna Lake residents should not have to pay for the City's neglect. We can work together to get the lake dredged and to provide mitigation so that the problem stemming from the local creek does not present itself again. I will also explore using Laguna Lake as a holding pond to help back up the City’s irrigation or drinking water supply. Preservation of this lake has many other benefits including recharging our aquifer, providing biomass for carbon sequestration and much needed habitat for water fowl.
